TITLE Component Engineering Analyst DEPARTMENT Supply Chain, Procurement, Component Engineering LOCATION Ottawa, Ontario, Ca REPORTS TO Director of Component Engineering Ciena products component engineering scope covers all direct commodities (printed circuits boards, interconnect, mechanical, optical, semiconductors and OEMs products) that are procured from Ciena supply base ($3B spend, +2,500 products, +25,000 manufacturer part numbers, +600 suppliers).
Key responsibilities: The Component analyst is responsible for the following tasks in a timely & professional manner.
- Manufacturer or Component level data acquisition - Storage of the manufacturer and component level information into Ciena Agile PLM system - Maintain the relevant manufacturer and component level information via ongoing/yearly campaign - Report on Ciena manufacturer or component level information - Generate monthly component engineering team metrics and key performance indicators - Work with commodity specific component engineers to support their manufacturer and component level information requirements - Provide guidance on the required information technology tools required for the manufacturer and component level information acquisition, maintenance, and reporting Qualifications and Experience required: - Technical degree or bachelor's degree with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Basic knowledge of relevant telecommunication industry standards, (Telcordia, IPC,JEDEC, etc.) - Experience with VBA, PowerBI, Agile PLM and Alteryx preferred - Good judgement and quick learner - Strong communication/team work skills to work with relevant departments within Ciena.
- Clear sense of accountability, attention to detail, organized and motivated to grow the role.
- Focused on completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
