What are we looking for?
We are seeking a Murex Mx.3 Support Engineer to join our Capital Markets technology support team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing front-to-back support across the Murex platform, focusing on incident resolution, system stability, performance tuning, and user support across trading, risk, operations, and finance teams.
Responsibilities
* Monitor and support Murex environments (FO/BO/Risk/Accounting modules) to ensure system availability and performance.
* Provide L1/L2 support for production incidents, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis.
* Troubleshoot issues across MxML workflows, Datamart reports, trade processing, and batch jobs.
* Analyze and resolve trade booking errors, interface failures, reconciliation mismatches, and performance bottlenecks.
* Collaborate with infrastructure, DBA, and application teams for environment maintenance and upgrades.
* Maintain and improve monitoring tools and alerting systems (e.g., for Murex batches, EOD, and market data).
* Perform log analysis and scripting to diagnose system and application issues.
* Support disaster recovery (DR) testing, patch management, and change deployments.
* Document known issues, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures.
* Communicate status updates and issue resolution plans to business stakeholders and senior management.
Mandatory Requirements
* 3–6+ years of hands-on experience supporting Murex Mx.3 in a financial institution or managed services role.
* Strong knowledge of Murex architecture and trade lifecycle across asset classes (FX, IRD, EQD, Credit, Fixed Income).
* Proficiency in Unix/Linux, Shell scripting, SQL, and basic knowledge of MxML workflows.
* Experience in monitoring and supporting batch processes, EOD runs, and trade interfaces.
* Skilled in reading and analyzing Murex logs, error messages, and system diagnostics.
* Solid understanding of incident management frameworks (ITIL preferred).
* Exposure to market data handling and static data management within Murex.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities under pressure.
* Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with traders, operations, and IT teams.
* Detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.
* Ability to work in rotational shifts, on-call support, or follow-the-sun models, if required.
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or Finance.
Desirable Requirements
* Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, job schedulers (e.g., Control-M), and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, AppDynamics).
* Familiarity with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA).
* Knowledge of regulatory processes (e.g., FRTB, Basel, IFRS 9) is a plus.
* Basic understanding of scripting languages like Python or Perl is a plus.
