We are currently looking for a Java Backend Engineer (Trading Platforms) to join an international project within the financial services and capital markets sector, working on a mission-critical trading ecosystem.
About the role
You will join a high-performing engineering team responsible for designing, developing and evolving backend services that power a complex trading platform used in regulated financial environments.
Your mission will be to build high-performance, secure and scalable Java services, contributing to the modernization of a critical trading architecture while working closely with global development, QA and business teams in an Agile setup.
Key responsibilities
Design and develop high-performance backend services in Java (8–21)
Build and maintain scalable APIs and backend components for a trading platform
Contribute to the modernization of legacy systems into modern architectures
Ensure secure coding practices and compliance with regulatory requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, Product Owners and Business Analysts
Support integration of backend services with GUI and front-end components
Participate in Agile ceremonies (SCRUM / SAFe) and technical discussions
Deliver robust, maintainable and high-quality software solutions
Your profile
✔ 4–6 years of experience in Java backend development
✔ Strong understanding of backend architecture, APIs and distributed systems
✔ Experience working in Agile environments (SCRUM / SAFe)
✔ Knowledge of secure coding principles and enterprise-grade applications
✔ Basic to intermediate knowledge of JavaScript and Python
✔ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
✔ Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
✔ Good communication skills in international environments
✔ Fluent English (Spanish is a plus)

✔ Experience in trading systems or financial markets environments
✔ Exposure to mission-critical, high-availability platforms
✔ Experience with system modernization or legacy migration projects
✔ Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
