Role overview


As a Claims Handler, you will be responsible for the efficient handling and administration of healthcare-related claims from notification through to resolution.


You will assess coverage, manage documentation, review reserves and payments, and ensure timely communication with all stakeholders. The role offers exposure to multijurisdictional matters and provides an opportunity to build technical expertise in healthcare and professional responsibility claims.


Role responsibilities


- Ensure timely and accurate processing and analysis of incoming claim documentation

- Create and maintain claims files in the appropriate systems

- Send acknowledgment letters to brokers and clients

- Prepare reserve estimates and payment requests for review and approval by the Head of Claims

- Respond to client inquiries and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders as required

- Support the Head of Claims with broader claims and bordereaux management tasks


Key requirements


- Full professional proficiency in Spanish and English (spoken and written), other languages are considered a plus.

- 1-3 years of experience in claims handling;
healthcare claims and/or professional liability is a plus.

- Excellent attention to detail

- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

- Proactive, methodical, and self-motivated approach to work

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships

- Confidence in communicating with colleagues, managers, and external partners, both in person and virtually

- Team player with the ability to learn quickly and thrive under pressure in a high-volume environment
