The Role
We are partnered with a world class IT services provider based in Spain but working with clients on a global scale. They have created a new opportunity for a Technical Account Manager to join them. Their Clients are consuming more technical services than ever - DevOps, data, Infrastructure, etc - and the old model of Service Delivery Managers didn’t focus enough on the relationship management. So they built a new function in December. Four people in it so far. This makes you number five.
This is not a sales role with quotas. This is delivery-led - service reviews, relationship management, demand shaping, and being credible enough on both sides that neither the client nor the internal team feels managed. You don’t need to be an Engineer but as Technical Account Manager you do need to understand how technical services are built and delivered and can have a technical conversation then translate the technical requirements in layman’s terms.
Half the role is customer-facing. Half is working the internal side - understanding delivery constraints, shaping demand, pre-empting problems before they become your client's problem. xbhjioe
If you've spent your career in a heavily structured corporate environment where everything comes with a process and a template, this probably isn't for you. The function is still young. The Technical Account Manager will also contribute to the continuous evolutions of the Account Management function, improving how customers are engaged and supported and strengthening internal processes
The Successful Technical Account Manager will have:
* Previous experience in a similar Technical client-facing role
* Strong technical knowledge in a service delivery or product development environment
* Excellent communication and relationship management skills
* Empathetic, adaptable and highly emotionally intelligent
* A background in MSP environments would be highly advantageous
