Original Sin 2 is looking for a Lead Character Artist to join the team and help us craft the high-caliber games our fans have come to expect.
Responsibilities
1. Work closely with the Art Director, Concept Artists, and Animation teams to ensure characters fit the artistic and gameplay needs.
2. Lead and mentor a team of character artists, helping them improve their skills and workflows.
3. Provide paint-overs, feedback, and detailed critiques to maintain consistency and quality.
4. Create high-quality 3D character models, from high-poly sculpts to in-game assets.
5. Organize team meetings, share best practices, and create learning opportunities.
6. Define and refine character art pipelines to maximize efficiency and maintain industry-leading quality.
7. Research and implement new tools, workflows, and technologies.
Requirements
1. 3+ years in a similar leadership role.
2. Strong artistic fundamentals (anatomy, form, texture, material rendering).
3. Previous leadership experience on shipped game titles.
4. Excellent leadership and communication skills.
5. Ability to balance creative vision with technical limitations.
Nice to Haves
1. Previous leadership experience on AAA titles with realistic graphics.
2. Knowledge of hair and fur grooming.
3. Previous experience working with facial blendshapes.
4. Public speaking or mentoring experience.
