Job DescriptionOncology MSL is a pivotal field‐based role that connects GSK to the healthcare community. This non‐promotional, customer‐facing position focuses on advancing clinical practice within an assigned territory to improve patient outcomes. The MSL brings deep clinical and oncology therapeutic expertise and market/landscape knowledge to engage with Healthcare Providers (HCPs) and account personnel, in alignment with GSK's medical strategies and plans.
Key objectives include engaging with community and academic experts, facilitating scientific exchange, and serving as a medical resource. These interactions aim to ensure that healthcare providers, payers, and decision makers understand unmet patient needs, the evolving treatment landscape, and the benefit/risk profile of GSK medicines for safe and appropriate use, improved patient outcomes, and closure of gaps in unmet medical needs.
Responsibilities:
Leverage scientific expertise to identify and engage HCPs across various specialties.
Engage HCPs on emerging data, clinical trials, unmet needs, patient barriers, market dynamics, and disease/product information.
Collect and communicate medical insights throughout the product lifecycle.
Plan and manage scientific engagements in the territory aligned with medical strategy.
Support clinical trials and collaborate with Medical Affairs and Clinical Operations.
Collaborate with internal colleagues to ensure a customer‐centric approach.
Understand and address unique medical needs of accounts.
Maintain in‐depth knowledge of assigned therapeutic areas and GSK medicines.
Adhere to GSK's Code of Conduct and policies.
Execute administrative responsibilities, training, and documentation.
Participate in Field Medical and cross‐enterprise projects.
Basic Qualifications
Must reside within the territory.
Doctorate level with a medical or clinical focus (Pharm D, PhD, MD) or an advanced science/clinical/healthcare degree (MSN, ANP, MS, MPH).
Oncology experience, pharmaceutical industry, or medical liaison experience.
2+ years' experience in pharmacology and pharmacotherapy in humans with practical knowledge in an oncology setting.
Experience engaging in peer‐to‐peer scientific dialogue with medical professionals.
Experience delivering medical‐based presentations.
Experience identifying opportunities for medical engagement and developing scientific engagement goals.
Experience developing relationships with external HCPs, KOLs, external experts, and internal stakeholders.
Ability to manage a multi‐state territory with 60–75% travel.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous clinical experience with direct or indirect decision‐making authority for patient care.
Proven track record of consistent, high performance.
Above‐average computer literacy and experience with software applications.
