Overview
Senior Designer at Darkroom — remote-first role supporting a team in the EST time zone. Darkroom is a progressive omnichannel growth marketing agency focused on retail, e-commerce, and consumer businesses. Our work spans brand, performance, and product design, balancing strategy and visual craft.
We’re looking for a Senior Designer who’s ready to roll up their sleeves, bring perspective, ask smart questions, and translate ideas into strategically sound, visually sharp work. You’ll lead creative projects across a range of deliverables while collaborating with Retention Managers, Developers, and Designers to deliver polished work that balances brand and performance.
You’ll report to the Director of Creative and work with a team of 8+ designers, each supporting multiple client accounts. This role is designed for someone who wants ownership, broad skill growth, and a clear path within a team that values creativity and clarity.
Responsibilities
- Design digital assets that support client marketing initiatives (paid ads, email & SMS, landing pages, organic social, Amazon creative, and more).
- Create design systems based on a client’s brand guidelines to ensure consistency across channels.
- Communicate with clients directly, present designs, lead workshops, and obtain approvals while maintaining strong relationships.
- Develop an understanding of drivers of conversion across marketing channels and execute designs within established best practices.
- Collaborate with team members and clients for feedback and approvals to maintain high craft standards.
- Design landing pages in Figma using UI/UX best practices and Darkroom’s web design guidelines.
- Collaborate with project managers and developers to deliver web design initiatives (landing pages, updates, and more).
- Work on the Creative team under the Design Director, contributing alongside 8+ designers supporting multiple client accounts.
Requirements Hard Skills
- 3+ years of proven design work experience (agency or design studio preferred).
- Digital portfolio demonstrating branding & identity, visual design, marketing design, and/or web design.
- Strong understanding of design principles (layout, hierarchy, color theory, typography, composition).
- Ability to lead client calls, drive workshops, and manage client relationships directly.
- Strong proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Fluency in English (speaking, writing, and presenting to clients).
Soft Skills
- Highly creative with attention to detail, able to work across multiple styles.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated, proactive, with ownership of deliverables.
- Systematic thinker with problem-solving and time-management skills.
Nice to Have
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
- BFA or higher in Graphic Design or Fine Arts.
