Senior Electronics Engineer – Cádiz, Spain
Littelfuse is looking for an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer to lead the design, development, testing, and support of advanced electronic systems from concept through to production. The role is based in Cádiz, Spain and focuses on electronic protection and safety products, especially Residual Current Devices (RCDs) and ground-fault detection devices.
Responsibilities
* Design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic systems and subsystems for protection and safety products.
* Define design approaches, architectures, and key parameters to meet performance and compliance requirements.
* Create detailed schematics, perform circuit analysis, and run simulations to validate designs.
* Oversee PCB design activities, including signal integrity, power distribution, and thermal considerations.
* Evaluate and select electronic components based on performance, reliability, availability, and cost.
* Plan and execute prototype testing, analyze results, troubleshoot issues, and iterate designs – ensuring designs meet performance, reliability, and safety standards.
* Work closely with firmware, mechanical, and test engineers to ensure seamless system integration.
* Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports.
* Ensure compliance with applicable standards and certification requirements (IEC, CE, UL, etc.).
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
* Minimum 7 years of experience in electronics design and development.
* Strong foundation in analog and digital electronics.
* Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium preferred).
* Experience with mixed-signal design.
* Strong communication skills in English, with experience working in international environments.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with RCD technologies (Type A, Type B).
* Exposure to Arc Fault Detection (AFD / AFDD) technologies.
* Experience in embedded hardware design and collaboration with firmware teams.
* Familiarity with simulation tools and analysis applications.
* Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for testing or data analysis.
* Understanding of certification and compliance processes (CE marking, IEC, UL, etc.).
* Experience in pure analog circuit design and testing.
