Senior Software Engineer – Content Technology (Mars Petcare, Madrid, Spain) Job Summary Seeking an experienced and proactive Sr. Software Engineer with deep expertise in content-related tools such as DAM, PXM, PIM, CMS, and brand guideline platforms. As a key member of the Content product technical team, you will collaborate with engineers, product owners, leads, and the broader scrum team to develop scalable, tool-agnostic solutions and guide foundational practices across the ecosystem. Responsibilities Implement best practices for development and configuration, ensuring code quality, scalability, security, and performance. Collaborate with engineering, product managers, and stakeholders to define requirements and prioritize feature development. Lead continuous learning and improvement initiatives in a high‑performance team. Monitor and report on KPIs related to content activities, providing insights for continuous improvement. Communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. Partner with external vendors and service providers to enhance DAM & MRM capabilities. Integrate backend systems with third‑party APIs, services, and databases. Optimize backend code/configurations for performance, scalability, and maintainability. Participate in test strategy, code reviews, and mentoring of junior engineers. Stay current on backend development trends, best practices, and emerging technologies. Troubleshoot and debug backend issues in collaboration with cross‑functional teams. Define requirements and prioritize feature development in partnership with product managers. Document work concisely for easy consumption by teammates. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred). 5+ years of experience working with SaaS tools and integrations. Proficient in backend frameworks and libraries (e.G., Django, Express.Js). Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices. Hands‑on expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines. Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Experience with Aprimo or other DAM systems a plus. Attention to detail in documenting technical specifications and workflows. Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. Self‑driven and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment. Nice to Have Prior experience within a integral multi‑brand organization.
