We currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Associate Director/Director to join our team of translational medicine leads supporting our ADC/RC portfolio.

The Translational Medicine function within AstraZeneca R&D ensures effective biomarker studies for Oncology projects, collaborating closely with discovery, early clinical development, and diagnostics teams. The team is responsible for delivering scientifically-driven biomarkers, feasibility assessments, validation, and clinical sample analysis, supporting both early and late-stage clinical development.
We seek a translational medicine leader to develop biomarker strategies for our oncology portfolio, supporting indication selection, early biological activity indication, and patient stratification.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver translational science and biomarker strategies for oncology assets from Ph1 to Ph3 clinical studies.
* Generate disease linkage data to guide indication selection and patient targeting.
* Measure target engagement and pharmacodynamic biomarkers to inform clinical decisions.
* Understand cancer pathway interactions, feedback mechanisms, and tumor microenvironment features.
* Identify mechanisms of resistance and study tumors at relapse.
* Influence translational strategy across AstraZeneca's portfolio.
* Collaborate with research and clinical teams to incorporate translational strategies.
* Contribute to clinical study reports, data reviews, publications, and presentations.
* Lead research collaborations in clinical technologies and oncology translational research.
Essential qualifications:
* PhD and/or MD with drug development experience.
* Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, preferably in biopharmaceuticals.
