Postdoctoral researcher: generative 3d, agentic ai & computational design systems (antas de ulla)

Deep Design Systems, in collaboration with CITIC (Centro de Investigación TIC at Universidade da Coruña), is looking for an outstanding postdoctoral researcher to join an advanced research programme at the intersection of generative AI, computational design, synthetic data and next-generation 3D systems.

We are interested in candidates working at the frontier of:

• Generative 3D AI

• Agentic systems

• Synthetic data generation

• Procedural modelling

• Multimodal AI

• Computational design

• AI-assisted engineering and industrial product development

Applicants are encouraged to propose their own research line, provided it is clearly aligned with the scientific and technological thesis of Deep Design Systems and CITIC.

This opportunity is designed for candidates with strong technical ability, intellectual independence and the ambition to push beyond incremental research. The selected candidate will work in a high-autonomy environment, combining frontier AI research with real-world deep-tech challenges in design, engineering and industrial innovation.

The position may be especially relevant for international researchers, including Spanish or European researchers abroad, who are considering returning to Spain or Europe through a strong postdoctoral research project, provided they meet the applicable MSCA mobility rules.

Key responsibilities

• Define and develop an original postdoctoral research agenda aligned with the program

• Contribute to research in generative 3D, agentic AI, synthetic data and computational design systems

• Produce high-quality scientific outputs and technical prototypes

• Collaborate with Deep Design Systems and CITIC research teams

• Translate research advances into applied deep-tech contexts

• Support the preparation of an MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship proposal, where applicable

Must-have qualifications

• Completed PhD by the relevant call deadline

• Minimum of two peer-reviewed publications

• Strong research background in AI, machine learning, computer graphics, computational design, procedural modelling, 3D generation or related fields

• Ability to work independently and define a coherent research agenda

• Ability to work on-site in A Coruña, Spain

• Eligibility or potential eligibility under MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship rules, including the applicable mobility rule

MSCA eligibility note

In line with MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship rules, applicants must normally not have resided or carried out their main activity — work, studies, etc. — in Spain for more than 12 months during the 36 months immediately before the relevant call deadline. xcskxlj
