Role Overview
As a Business Development Manager (Hunter profile), you will be responsible for driving new partner acquisition and unlocking commercial growth by proactively identifying, targeting, and converting high‑potential hotel partners. This is a high‑energy, outbound‑focused role where success is driven by pipeline creation, negotiation, and closing new opportunities. You’ll operate at the front line of HBX Group’s growth, building compelling value propositions, negotiating differentiated agreements, and bringing new partners into our ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Acquisition & Growth
Proactively identify, target, and acquire new strategic hotel partners.
Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, from prospecting to closing.
Target partners with clear uplift potential and design differentiated commercial conditions.
Apply a hunter mindset to uncover opportunities across new markets, segments, and partner types.
Commercial Strategy & Execution
Develop tailored value propositions aligned with partner needs and HBX products.
Negotiate exclusive, bespoke, and SPA‑based agreements to drive competitive advantage.
Prioritise hotels based on value opportunity and commercial impact.
Implement strategic growth plans aligned with regional and general commercial objectives.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Acquisition, Commodity, Differentiation, and Direct Channel teams to ensure efficient onboarding and conversion.
Support transitions into differentiated commercial models and strategic acquisitions.
Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, and Product teams to ensure seamless partner activation.
Market & Partner Intelligence
Analyse customer needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics to inform outreach.
Identify pipeline gaps and improve contracting quality to increase conversion.
Represent HBX Group at industry events, trade shows, and partner meetings.
Relationship Building
Establish strong, trust‑based relationships with newly acquired partners.
Apply a consultative selling approach focused on long‑term value creation.
Build foundations for future account growth once partners are onboarded.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in new business development / hunter roles, ideally within travel, tech, or hospitality.
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills, with a track record of closing deals.
Ability to proactively prospect, qualify, and convert new partners.
Data‑driven mindset with the ability to prioritise opportunities by value.
Understanding of hotel revenue management and distribution models is a plus.
Comfortable working in fast‑paced, evolving environments.
Experience collaborating cross‑functionally to drive results.
