The Opportunity Hitachi Energy is looking for a motivated Power Converter Product Specialist to support the development and evolution of power conversion products used in utility‐scale PV, BESS and hybrid energy systems.

You will act as a bridge between market needs, system applications and R&D, contributing directly to the definition and successful delivery of competitive power converter solutions.
How You'll Make an Impact Drive Application‐Driven Product Development Support the definition and evolution of power converter solutions for PV, battery energy storage and hybrid applications Translate application‐level and customer needs into clear product requirements and preliminary technical specifications Contribute to product roadmaps by analyzing trends in power ratings, system architectures, performance, and cost drivers Capture and Structure Market Requirements Collect and structure market and customer requirements together with product managers, sales, and application engineering Support benchmarking of competitor solutions and emerging technologies Help assess gaps between current products and future application needs Contribute to Product Specification & Design Input Prepare preliminary product specifications including key electrical parameters, control features, grid interaction capabilities and interfaces Support R&D by clarifying use cases, operating envelopes, and application constraints Participate in technical design reviews as the application and product voice Support Validation and Industrialization Contribute to validation activities by reviewing test plans, performance data, and compliance against requirements Support the preparation of technical and marketing documentation, product descriptions, and internal guidelines Assist in managing technical change requests and product improvements during development and lifecycle phases Collaborate Across Functions Work closely with R&D, sales and tendering, quality, manufacturing and supply chain Learn from product managers and technical experts, building strong product and system know-how Support internal trainings and knowledge sharing related to power converter applications.
Your Background Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with focus on Power Electronics or Power Systems 2–5 years of experience in power electronics, converters, inverters or system engineering, ideally in renewable energy or BESS Good understanding xpzdshu of power converter topologies, control principles and system‐level interactions Familiarity with grid‐connected applications (PV, BESS, hybrid plants) is a strong advantage Basic experience with simulation tools (e.g.
PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS) or test environments is a plus Structured mindset with the ability to turn technical information into clear requirements Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate in cross‐functional, international teams Fluent in Spanish and English; additional languages are a plus Why This Role Is Interesting Exposure to end-to-end product development, from market need to validated product Hands on involvement in state-of-the-art power conversion technologies A clear growth path toward Product Manager, Technical Product Owner, or System Architect roles Opportunity to contribute to solutions enabling the energy transition
