Role Description & Qualifications
As a Business Controlling Manager in Switzerland, you will act as a key partner to management by providing insights, analysis, and guidance that drive financial performance and strategic decision-making. This role focuses on translating financial data into actionable recommendations, monitoring business performance, and supporting initiatives that enhance efficiency and profitability across the organization.
The Business Controlling Manager bridges finance and operations, offering analytical insight to improve decision‑making, optimize resource allocation, and ensure that organizational objectives are met. You will develop reporting frameworks, oversee budgeting and forecasting processes, and provide management with clear, data‑driven insights. The role requires a strong understanding of financial controlling, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence decisions across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes in alignment with business objectives.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain management reporting tools, dashboards, and KPIs to support strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure alignment between financial goals and business strategy.
- Conduct cost analyses, investment evaluations, and scenario planning to guide decision‑making.
- Ensure compliance with Swiss accounting standards, corporate policies, and internal controls.
- Drive process improvements in financial reporting, planning, and analysis to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering development and a high‑performing controlling function.
- Support general reporting initiatives and align local processes with group-wide standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are a plus.
- Strong expertise in financial controlling, management reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in ERP and reporting systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, Power BI) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.
- Understanding of Swiss GAAP, IFRS, and local regulatory requirements.
- Strategic thinking mindset with ability to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German and/or French is an advantage.
