Junior business analyst

Tech Pipeline helps operations teams fix operational drag by repairing broken system integrations, resolving clogged databases, and clearing data backlogs. As a Junior Business Analyst, you will work directly on cleaning up messy configurations, mapping operational processes, and tracing errors back to their source. In this role, you will be working closely on a major operational clean‑up for our partner, a leading European retail and supply chain group, helping them align their stock levels across different distribution channels.

About the role

Many organizations face a common source of friction: their business tools no longer talk to one another, leaving team members to manually copy and paste data, reconcile spreadsheets by hand, or chase down missed approvals in email threads. In this role, you will be finding and fixing these precise system gaps. You will not be building high‑level strategy decks or presenting abstract business frameworks. Instead, your job is to find out exactly why a routing rule failed, where the database record drifted from its source of truth, or why an automated invoice got stuck. You will sit with the operators doing the daily work, map out their steps, and help implement the plumbing that makes their systems run without manual intervention.

This is a hybrid position, combining productive remote days with regular collaborative office sessions to map out workflows and work side‑by‑side with our project teams.

What you will be doing

• Trace transaction logs and system error reports to find exactly where data changes or goes bad.
• Map out existing operational flows by shadowing team members and documenting their daily manual workarounds.
• Draft new routing rules and update system configurations to automate manual handoffs.
• Run manual reconciliations between different software platforms to verify that our updates are working as expected and the data is consistent.
• Write clear, simple documentation and step‑by‑step guides so the client team can run the updated system on their own.
• Assist during the first month of live operations, checking logs daily to handle any unexpected system behavior and ensure the solution sticks.

What we need from you

• A systematic approach to solving problems and a genuine curiosity to trace the problem down to its root.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to explain technical details in simple, direct terms.
• Basic familiarity with spreadsheets, including formulas, lookups, and sorting large datasets.
• Organized working habits and the ability to track multiple small duties without losing focus.
• An eye for detail, especially when looking at logs, data tables, or process steps.
• The ability to collaborate in a hybrid team setting, balancing independent work with active in‑office sessions.

Helpful background

• Basic exposure to databases, SQL queries, or simple scripting languages.
• Previous experience in a customer support, administration, or operations role where you had to work with messy data files.
• Familiarity with business tools like enterprise databases, CRM platforms, or ticketing software.
