Role Purpose
The Market Change Lead ensures successful adoption of new ways of working within their market; they champion the global template approach, while understanding the needs and perceptions of the local business; they are the glue joining the central and market activities always finding ways to influence and take people in market on the journey.
The span of this role covers all Day 2 change activities impacting a market; 80% of this is expected to be Opus related and 20% for Establishment Day 2 and Global Business Services change activities that impact a market or their customers/suppliers. The critical principle is that these programmes are fully integrated at a market level and have one face to the market.
They partner with the Local Deployment Lead while working in close alignment with the Global and Wave Change Teams to ensure consistent execution of the global design, while addressing local needs and driving adoption.
Specifically, this role drives market readiness, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable change execution—reinforcing the benefits of standardized processes and systems while building trust and commitment at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
Market Change Leadership
Own the market-level change and communications plan aligned with wave and global strategies and templates.
Act as the primary contact for all change activities impacting employees in the market.
Ensure global and wave change initiatives are tailored to local needs and realities.
Localization & Cultural Adaptation
Adapt messaging, communications, and enablement materials to reflect local cultural, regulatory, and operational considerations.
Ensure employee engagement approaches resonate with the local audience.
Stakeholder Engagement
Identify and map key market stakeholders, including leadership, HR, and influencers.
Build strong relationships to drive advocacy and engagement.
Set up and utilise a market change network to act as eyes and ears on the ground
Track stakeholder sentiment and readiness, escalating risks to the Wave Change Lead.
Employee Communications & Engagement
Deliver clear, timely, and culturally relevant communications within the market.
Champion feedback loops and employee listening to inform adjustments.
Enablement & Support
Coordinate market-level training, toolkits, and resources, leveraging global and wave assets.
Monitor adoption and sentiment locally, adjusting plans as needed.
Integration & Governance
Ensure market change activities align with wave and global governance frameworks.
Integrate change efforts with business-as-usual operations in the market.
Risk & Issue Management
Identify market-specific risks related to adoption and readiness.
Escalate issues to the Wave Change Lead and propose mitigation strategies.
Track and report on change progress and challenges.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience leading change initiatives within a single-country or market context.
Strong understanding of employee engagement, communications, and cultural adaptation.
Ability to work collaboratively with global, wave, and functional teams.
Familiarity with change frameworks (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR, Kotter) and agile delivery models.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Strong planning, analytical, and communication capabilities.
