Role Purpose
ICON by Coface is recruiting a Pre Sales - Solution Engineer to support the development of Business Information Services. This role reports directly to the Group Head of Solution Engineering and involves working closely with the Sales team to drive complex solution sales and support presales activities. The Solution Engineer acts as a subject matter expert during the sales cycle, owning end-to-end solution design to address customer problems, working on both technical and functional aspects, and assisting with technical questions and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Partner Activation and Implementation: Support partners in activating and implementing solutions post-signing to ensure smooth transition from sales to delivery.
2. Sales Support: Collaborate with the commercial team to define and deliver customized solutions for large accounts.
3. ERP Integration Understanding: Understand how solutions can integrate with ERP systems; translating technical challenges into business language is essential.
4. Solution Definition and Customization: Design and present tailored solutions to meet customer needs.
5. Technical Communication: Clearly explain functional aspects of solutions using technical language.
6. Post-Signing Implementation: Ensure successful client implementation after contract signing.
7. Consulting Experience: Experience with top-tier consulting firms like Deloitte and Accenture is highly valued.
8. Proof of Concept (PoC): Collaborate on PoC activities, including configuration and demonstrations for potential customers.
9. Customer Engagement: Provide ongoing support and demonstrations to enhance product understanding and adoption.
10. Process Optimization: Identify and implement improvements to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
11. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with product development, marketing, and other teams to improve solution delivery.
Skills and Experience
* Strong analytical and technical mindset to assess customer needs and design solutions.
* Ability to explain functional aspects and assess integration potential.
* No prior presales experience required but understanding of sales processes and technical requirements is necessary.
* ERP integration knowledge; coding skills are not required.
* Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
* Proactive, solution-oriented, with excellent communication skills.
* Ability to thrive in a multicultural, global environment.
* Willingness to travel and fluency in English; additional languages are an asset.
Preferred Background
* Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or data analysis; Master’s preferred.
* 3–4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in consulting or technical sales.
* Experience with international clients and complex solutions is a plus.
