Logistics Process Improvement Specialist, Data Center Logistics — Job ID: 3126611 | Amazon Data Services Japan G.K. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We’re looking for talented people who want to help optimize our operations with LEAN principles and data-driven insights, delivering measurable results for our Data Center logistics team. You will collaborate with diverse teams across AWS to maintain high safety, security, and efficiency while providing capacity at a low cost for customers. Key responsibilities
* Lead targeted process improvement projects across Data Center logistics operations, applying LEAN, Kaizen and other operational excellence tools to deliver measurable results.
* Map current workflows, identify bottlenecks, and partner with operations teams to design and implement future-state processes that reduce waste, shorten cycle times, and improve accuracy.
* Work hands-on with logistics teams to pilot and roll out process changes, ensuring adoption through clear documentation, training, and KPI tracking.
* Monitor results post-implementation using observational analysis and operational data, adjusting approaches to ensure sustained gains.
* Support day-to-day logistics, including managing and maintaining accurate inventory and parts checkouts for internal customers; arrange, schedule, and support shipments across sites and other locations; unpack boxes and verify contents.
* Maintain a clean environment, orderliness and safety in all workspaces.
* Collaborate with inventory, transportation teams, and data analysts to connect process changes with measurable performance improvements; coach colleagues on LEAN concepts and promote problem-solving at all levels.
* Occasional travel across the cluster to support other sites and lift materials up to 18 kg with team support.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
* 2+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations with a focus on process improvement or operational excellence.
* Working knowledge of LEAN principles and tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping).
* Experience analyzing operational data to support decision-making and measure process changes; strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement practical, sustainable solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
* Familiarity with data center logistics operations (warehouse, inventory management).
* Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent process improvement certification.
* Experience with BI or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight) to track performance metrics.
