Responsibilities
- System Administration: Create, deploy, and troubleshoot Linux servers, apply security updates, perform backups, conduct disaster recovery, and apply patches to maintain a stable and secure environment.
- Project Support: Assist in migrations of applications and services, maintain server inventory and documentation, and ensure seamless integration with hybrid infrastructure.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with application architects, developers, and global business stakeholders to deploy appropriate technologies and ensure integration with existing systems.
- Knowledge Transfers & Documentation: Share best practices with teammates to foster continuous learning. Create and maintain infrastructure and network diagrams for clarity and scalability.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop and implement automation strategies using Bash, Python, PowerShell, or cloud CLIs to streamline system administration tasks and deployments.
- Security & Compliance: Configure and manage syslog/rsyslog for centralized log management;
harden Linux servers and ensure compliance with organizational security standards.
- Database Management: Administer MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, including backups, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
- Monitoring & Quality Assurance: Monitor system operations and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve system and application issues proactively.
- Troubleshooting: Analyze application and system logs to identify root causes and implement permanent solutions.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Act as a technical mentor and escalation point for junior systems administrators, guiding them in best practices and complex troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related field, with equivalent experience considered.
- RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) certification or equivalent;
AWS Solutions Architector SysOps certifications highly desirable.
- 7-8 years of proven, hands-on experience as a Linux System Administrator.
- Expertise in Red Hat Linux and derivatives, Ubuntu, and Linux command-line administration.
- Proven experience administering Linux servers running Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, NPM, or similar technologies.
- Solid experience with syslog/rsyslogd configuration, management, and log interpretation.
- Skilled in Linux server hardening, package installation/configuration via RPM, and deployment of RPM packages.
- Exposure to cloud platforms, particularly AWS, with practical implementation experience preferred.
- Proven experience with automation and scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell, or cloud CLIs) to manage Linux infrastructure efficiently.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and structured problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent communication and collaboration abilities, especially in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong attention to detail and organizational discipline.
- Experience collaborating with international teams and communicating effectively across time zones.
- Flexibility to work shifts within a 24/7 operational setup.
