Data Services Support Coordinator – AI Factory
Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC‑CNS) is a leading supercomputing institution in Spain. It hosts MareNostrum, one of Europe’s most powerful supercomputers, and serves as a research centre for HPC, data science and AI. The Data Management team within the AI Institute is looking for a Services Support Coordinator to ensure that users of the BSC AIF Data Services can effectively use the platform, tools, and services while maintaining a high‑quality support experience.

Key Duties
* Provide expert-level guidance to users on accessing, using, and troubleshooting BSC AIF data services (platforms, repositories, data‑transfer tools, catalogues, infrastructure access, etc.).
* Diagnose user issues and, when necessary, elevate to specialists.
* Collect user and support staff feedback to identify gaps, usability issues, and improvement opportunities.
* Deliver training sessions, user documentation, FAQs, and onboarding materials.
* Coordinate consistent data service delivery by defining workflows, procedures, and response standards.
* Mentor support personnel on data services, GDPR, and legal compliance.
* Facilitate structured knowledge sharing through documentation, training, briefings, and internal wikis.
* Integrate lessons learned into service documentation and team procedures.
* Maintain and refine knowledge bases, standard operating procedures, and support documentation, while tracking KPIs and proposing process improvements.
* Collaborate with technical teams to communicate recurring issues, feature requests, or bottlenecks.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of user support, training, and communication strategies.
Requirements
* Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Project Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
* Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience:
o 3‑5 years of professional experience providing user enablement in IT and data services.
o Knowledge of institutional data repositories, collaboration platforms, secure research environments, and related technologies.
o Understanding of technical mechanisms for data access, permissions, workflows, and interoperability.
o Experience coordinating data‑intensive projects.
* Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience:
o Familiarity with ticketing systems, knowledge bases, and service‑level processes.
o Experience coordinating small teams or cross‑functional support activities.
o Experience with documentation tools, wikis, project management tools, and user communication channels.
o Experience in a research or academic environment.
o Knowledge of FAIR data principles, research data management practices, or Open Science services.
o Good proficiency in English (written and spoken).
* Competences:
o Excellent communication and customer‑service abilities.
o Strong coordination, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to translate technical and legal concepts into user‑friendly language.
o Team‑oriented approach with ability to work across technical and non‑technical groups.
Conditions
* Location: BSC Operations Department.
* Contract: Full‑time (37.5 h/week) with flexible hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, and relocation support.
* Duration: Open‑ended contract tied to project and budget timelines.
* Holidays: 22 days of holiday plus 6 personal days and observances on 24 Dec and 31 Dec.
* Salary: Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience, adjusted for Barcelona cost of living.
* Start date: as soon as possible.

Selection Process
The selection involves a competitive examination system with two phases: (1) Curriculum analysis evaluating experience, education, and training; and (2) interview assessing technical competencies, knowledge, skills, and personal competencies. A minimum score of 30 out of 60 is required to advance. The panel is composed of at least three members, ensuring minority representation.
