Overview Amazon is seeking an experienced, business‑oriented Engineering Project Manager to coordinate the planning, design, and execution of highly complex logistic process solutions for the continued expansion of our EU Customer Fulfilment network. Candidates will possess Engineering Program and Project Management experience, strong technical problem‑solving skills, and value‑engineering expertise. The role focuses on automation technologies (conveyance, sortation, robotics) and storage solutions within Amazon Fulfilment Centers, delivering state‑of‑the‑art material handling systems while coordinating internal teams and external vendors for Retrofits, Initiatives, and Expansions (REIs). Location and Travel The position is based in Spain, Italy, or France with up to 50 % on‑site travel across EMEA. Key Responsibilities
End‑to‑end ownership of small‑ to medium‑scale engineering projects (planning, design, installation, commissioning, qualification, launch support). Deep technical dives to deliver value engineering and innovative solutions that drive frugality and continuous improvement. Lead technical design reviews and propose solutions for material handling and storage that meet business needs and integral design standards. Create, submit, and track CAPEX requests (Capital Planning) to keep projects within budget and achieve optimal value. Communicate project status, drive escalations for risks or delays across multiple teams. Support procurement with equipment specifications and technical input for best value. Collaborate with internal teams: World Wide Engineering, Construction, Operations, Reliability Maintenance Engineering, Procurement, and Change Management. Assist with standardisation, qualification, and launch of external fulfilment sites in partnership with External Fulfilment (EF) business partners.
A Day in the Life You will deliver an Amazon Fulfilment Center over a project lifecycle of about a year, managing early design and bidding from an office or home and spending roughly 50 % of the time at the project site during execution. You will take ownership of installation, commissioning, qualification, and post‑launch ramp‑up, gaining increasing responsibilities and leading cross‑functional initiatives. Basic Qualifications
Experience with business or technical software (MS Excel, MS Project, CAD). Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline. Proven Project/Program Management experience in comparable industrial environments. Advanced proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing/implementing integrated automation solutions (material handling systems, high‑speed packaging lines, manufacturing lines). Comprehensive understanding of operational, reliability, and maintenance processes and relevant software tools. Fluency in French, Polish, Arabic, Portuguese, Turkish, Afrikaans, or Zulu (preferred).
