Group Head of Supply Chain - Madrid / Barcelona
A dynamic and expanding international pharmaceutical organisation is seeking an experienced Head of Supply Chain to lead and optimize its global supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will drive efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster cross-functional collaboration to support the company’s continued growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute the supply chain strategy in alignment with overall business goals.
* Lead a diverse team, providing direction, mentorship, and performance management.
* Oversee procurement, inventory management, production scheduling, logistics, and customer service.
* Drive cost optimization, process efficiencies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain performance.
* Collaborate closely with production, quality assurance, regulatory, and commercial teams.
* Manage supplier relationships and negotiate cost-effective sourcing agreements.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards, including GMP and GDP.
Key Requirements
* Minimum 10 years of management experience in the pharmaceutical sector, including a customer-facing role with big pharma clients .
* Background in CDMO / B2B pharma generics or biologics .
* Expertise in sourcing, production scheduling, planning, launches, and warehouse management .
* Proven ability to lead large teams (15+ people) and grow/develop team leaders.
* Strong knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes and KPIs (on-time delivery, inventory turnover, transportation costs).
* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field required. Master’s degree or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma) preferred.
* Languages: Proficiency in English required. Spanish highly valued but not mandatory.
* Willingness to travel up to 30% internationally.
