Flight Ops Engineer - Weight & Balance Technician

Job Purpose
Analyze, update and control the weight and balance configurations and modifications of Vueling’s entire fleet, according to operational safety guidelines and regulatory requirements, to ensure optimal aircraft performance, safety and compliance.
Responsibilities
* Track and integrate changes such as new equipment installations, paint jobs or internal modifications, maintaining the aircraft’s optimal performance and safety.
* Record accurately the weight of catering supplies, magazines and other in‑flight materials to keep the balance within limits.
* Accurately represent new operational destinations in the system for precise weight and balance calculations.
* Validate loading data, including passenger counts and luggage weights, preventing errors that could affect flight weight and balance.
* Account for non‑standard passenger weights (e.g., sports teams, groups with heavy equipment) to maintain safety and balance.
* Analyze real load sheets from various stations, identify discrepancies and correct the data for operational safety.
* Update manual records with new weights, configurations and other relevant data, assisting ground handling agents in maintaining accurate load sheets.
* Identify software bugs and validate application performance, improving efficiency and accuracy in load management.
* Communicate necessary information to crew about special passenger groups during flights.
* Ensure all modifications, such as new installations or equipment changes, are accurately recorded in the weight and balance system.
* Assist in resolving load sheet discrepancies, collaborating closely with specialists and ground staff.
* Maintain the correct placement and weight distribution of catering supplies and other in‑flight materials.
* Ensure new aircraft configurations are documented and integrated into the weight and balance system for accurate load planning.
* Participate in regular safety audits and compliance checks, contributing to continuous improvement of operational safety.
Qualifications
* A degree in Aeronautical Engineering (required).
* Recent graduates from Aeronautical Engineering programs are eligible; practical experience through internships or related projects is beneficial.
* Proficiency with automation, programming and digital load sheet applications is an advantage.
* Strong communication skills, drive for results, teamwork, energy, dynamism, proactivity, organization, commitment and methodical thinking.
* English C1 (essential); Spanish C1 (plus).
