Do you aim to have a dynamic impact on the world? Are you up for creating solutions and solving tomorrow’s problems today? Then we have the opportunity for you! We are looking to hire an ICQA Area Manager to be part of our fulfillment center Inventory Control and Quality Assurance (ICQA) team. Our fulfillment centers (FC) sit at the heart of Amazon’s rapidly growing operations network: they are where we manage our fast-moving inventory. In each fulfillment center, our teams stow deliveries, pick products, package them up and ship them out; each of these groups have played their part in taking us where we are today. These fulfillment centers are fast-paced and high reward environments, where adherence to policies and procedures is key. We need a leader that ensures we deliver as reliably as ever to our customers, while making sure our teams deliver on customer obsession.
Key job responsibilities
1. Lead and supervise a team of hourly Associates (including Team Leads and Data Analysts) assigned to inventory control, quality assurance, and problem-solving operations within the fulfillment center;
2. Support safety programs and ensure compliance to maintain a safe work environment for all associates. Collaborate with Operations and other Support teams to establish, influence, and adhere to policies and procedures;
3. Coordinate inventory control, quality assurance, and problem-solving operations in line with network strategies, ensuring compliance and consistency with SOX;
4. Conduct shift planning and forecasting, assign and direct work, and oversee projects aimed at streamlining processes, increasing quality, and optimizing productivity;
5. Review KPIs regularly (daily, weekly, monthly) and perform quality analysis on behaviors and processes that could impact inventory integrity and customer experience;
6. Develop expertise in key fulfillment center process paths and exception handling to drive continuous process improvements alongside the operations management team;
7. Support in interviewing and training fulfillment center managers and associates, developing talent, and hiring future managers.
A day in the life
You will work shifts at one of our fulfillment centers, overseeing inventory control, quality assurance, and problem-solving operations. Your day begins with a team huddle to review previous performance, set goals, and address ongoing issues. During your shift, you'll analyze inventory discrepancies, oversee resolution of receiving issues, and coach team members on accuracy. You'll analyze data for trends and process improvement opportunities, collaborating with FC operations or central teams like Catalogue, Procurement, Supply Chain, Process Engineering, Loss Prevention, and Program Management. Quick, informed decision-making is essential to keep operations smooth. You'll be on the floor observing processes, coaching team members, and maintaining safety standards. Developing your team through feedback and training needs identification is also key. At the end of your shift, you'll prepare a handover, summarizing key events, ongoing issues, and priorities, contributing to inventory accuracy, resolving inbound challenges, and ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient fulfillment operations.
