Currently, we are collaborating with an international polymer distribution company that is strengthening its finance department and is looking to hire a General Accountant for its office in Valencia.
This position is to cover a maternity leave (initially around 6 months) with immediate availability, working closely with the Finance Director and playing a key role in the day-to-day accounting operations of the company.
Main Responsibilities
The selected candidate will support the accounting and financial operations of the company, including but not limited to:
* Managing general accounting operations, including recording customer and supplier invoices and maintaining relationships with banks
* Managing and monitoring all accounting transactions
* Treasury management: payments, collections, bank and cash control, loans, leasing and financial movements
* Bank reconciliations and cash checks
* Accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliation
* Preparing budget forecasts and margin control
* Ensuring timely financial reporting
* Supporting monthly and semi-annual closings
* Ensuring timely bank payments and cash forecasts
* Supporting tax processes, including VAT reconciliation and checks related to personal income tax
* Monitoring credit risk and overdue balances, including reporting data to the group together with sales figures
* Administrative and accounting support to the Finance Director, including covering essential functions during absences
* Ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations
* Maintaining proper documentation and administrative organization within the finance department
You will work closely with the person who will assume the Finance Director role and lead the ERP transition project, so the position will also be involved in supporting operational finance during this transformation.
Requirements
Education
* Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or similar
Experience
* Previous experience in an accounting and/or finance department
* Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
We are not looking for a purely theoretical profile, but rather someone who can interpret and understand the numbers behind the business.
Languages
* Spanish: fluent
* English: high level (mandatory)
Technical Skills
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
* Comfortable working with digital tools and financial systems
