Lead Communications, Patient Advocacy & Sustainability – Spain
\n
Location: Madrid, Spain (hybrid: onsite 1 day per week).
\n
Purpose & Scope
\n
Lead the affiliate’s communications strategy by creating, implementing, and overseeing the brand communications plan in line with overall brand and global communications strategy.
\n
Lead Patient Advocacy and Sustainability initiatives, including defining and implementing the affiliate’s patient advocacy strategy, establishing local partnerships with relevant patient organizations, and planning and executing social responsibility initiatives.

Report to the General Manager.
\n
Roles and Responsibilities
\n
Implement and support corporate communications activities that reinforce the delivery of Astellas’ strategy with external stakeholders, aligned with global communications frameworks and brand communications strategy.
\n
Develop and coordinate media events (press releases, conferences, interviews) and create local communication materials; manage social media strategies and listening.
\n
Handle crisis issue management working cross-functionally.
\n
Act as the affiliate’s representative with local patient organizations.
\n
Co‑develop appropriate partnerships with patient organizations with local brand teams and global patient advocacy.
\n
Lead the planning and execution of local social responsibility and sustainability initiatives, ensuring alignment with Astellas’ global sustainability strategy and long‑term corporate objectives.
\n
Take responsibility for Environmental and ISO 14001 initiatives, leading the company’s environmental report and actions.
\n
Required Qualifications
\n
Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related subject.
\n
Fluent in English and Spanish.
\n
Solid experience in corporate communications, digital communications, patient advocacy and certification in social responsibility.
\n
Proven track record in crisis management at national or international level.
\n
Project management experience.
\n
Preferred Qualifications
\n
Master’s degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Health Policy, Sustainability or related fields.
\n
Certification or advanced training in ESG/Corporate Responsibility (GRI Standards, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, Sustainability Reporting) or similar.
