As a Senior Buyer, you will be office-based, reporting directly to the Head of Buying, and will work in a close-knit environment with our full commercial team at our offices in Trim. You will collaborate with some of the world's leading seafood suppliers, managing the procurement of fresh, frozen, exotic, and aquaculture products.
Key areas:
**Buying Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for the general sourcing of fresh fish (short shelf life, wild/farmed/processed), managing transportation via road, sea, and air.
- Monitor and track orders throughout the entire supply chain, from the point of origin to the warehouse, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Ensure competitive supply and service levels in a fast-paced environment by coordinating and negotiating with seafood suppliers.
- Take direct procurement responsibility for specific product categories within the portfolio.
- Collaborate with the sales team to determine pre-order levels before finalizing weekly orders.
- Coordinate and manage cost-to-pricing sheets for the Sales team.
- Proactively monitor market conditions, analyse data, and identify trends, opportunities, new ideas, and risks.
- Implement and develop supplier KPIs to drive and improve supplier performance.
**Supplier Management**:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, driving performance improvement initiatives.
- Develop in-depth product knowledge to understand characteristics and availability.
- Research and evaluate potential new suppliers for existing and new product lines.
**Supply Chain Management**:
- Manage stock replenishment, minimum order quantities, lead times, and forecasting as needed.
- Work closely with the transport team to ensure reliable accumulation and transportation of inbound products.
**People and Process Agenda**
- Foster effective internal collaboration with the Transport, Warehouse, Commercial, and Accounts departments.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Demonstrate flexibility during peak periods.
- Experience and Capability:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in procurement, with a proven ability to manage the entire procurement process for multiple product categories.
- Familiarity with sourcing fresh produce or operating in a similarly fast-paced environment, particularly managing short-shelf-life items and time-sensitive supply chains to meet demanding weekly requirements.
- Strong skills in building and maintaining an engaged, competitive supplier portfolio, ensuring solid relationships that align with organizational goals.
- Demonstrated success in collaborating closely with Sales teams to drive commercial advantage and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Office products, including MS Teams.
- Strong IT skills, including experience with accounting software such as Exchequer or similar (e.g., Sage).

Pay: 35,000.00€ - 45,000.00€ per month
