About IFAE: The Institut de Física d'Altes Energies (IFAE) is a public consortium of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).
IFAE carries out research in high energy physics from theoretical, experimental and technological perspectives and has the Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence distinction **********).
About The ATLAS Group: The Collider Physics group at IFAE focuses on the scientific exploitation of the LHC at CERN.
The group has a long history with ATLAS and participates in TileCal, Level-1 Topological Trigger, Pixel detector upgrades, and physics analyses of top quark, Higgs, and searches for new phenomena beyond the Standard Model.
The group collaborates with IFAE's Theory Division and the PIC computing centre.
What you will do
The successful candidate will join the IFAE-ATLAS group and participate in high-level physics analyses using Run 2 and Run 3 datasets, and contribute to the maintenance and operation of the ATLAS detector.
The role includes leading roles in physics analyses and collaboration across detector operations.
Responsibilities
Join the IFAE-ATLAS group and participate in physics analyses using Run 2 and Run 3 datasets.
Participate in the maintenance and operation of the ATLAS detector.
Contribute to research in areas such as precision measurements and searches for new phenomena beyond the Standard Model (examples include top quark, Higgs analyses, supersymmetry, vector-like fermions, leptoquarks, and additional Higgs bosons).
Collaborate with computing and theory groups to analyze data and develop analysis tools.
Requirements and Evaluation Criteria
The successful candidate is expected to have:
Master's in Physics or be admitted to the Physics PhD program of the UAB before the start of the grant ().
Proficiency in English.
Pro-active attitude and good communication skills.
Research experience in experimental particle physics during the Master studies.

Role and Contract
The candidate should have a University degree in Physics or related topics and a Master degree.
The candidate will join the IFAE-ATLAS group and participate in first-class research with the ATLAS detector at the LHC.
The role includes leading physics analyses and contributing to the operation of the ATLAS detector.
Full-time contract (40 hours/week).
Predoctoral Contract (R1) within IFAE.
Salary proportional to experience within the category range.
