We are looking for a Distribution & Transport Manager, based in Portugal (Lisbon) or in Spain (Madrid):
The Iberia Distribution and Transport Manager is responsible for managing third-party logistics service providers in Spain and Portugal regarding warehousing and outbound transportation operations, ensuring performance meets customer and business needs, within a defined budget and in compliance with all quality and regulatory guidelines.
Essential duties and responsibilities
* Operational : Supervise all processes in the inbound from J&J plants, stock, shipping activities, and final distribution to customers. Manage relationships with 3PL providers for performance, costs, and compliance to ensure correct contract execution (BCP, SLA, and KPIs). Identify, assess, and lead cost improvement opportunities with 3PLs. Drive OTIF-D, data analysis, and KPI reporting initiatives. Exploit external industry forums and connections to pre-figure and plan new distribution scenarios. Conduct business activities in adherence to J&J quality and compliance standards (including SOX, QA audits, JJRC, EH&S, etc.).
* Strategic : Support logistics initiatives as part of the wider supply chain strategy. Improve logistic and networking processes. Drive and support cross-sector initiatives to enhance harmonization, process efficiencies, and CIP initiatives. Partner with Customer Service, Supply Chain, 3PL Procurement, Finance, and Commercial Quality to enhance customer service.
* Leadership : Promote and empower the operations team towards continuous improvement in logistics processes. Develop key talents within the organization, ensure timely performance and career discussions, and establish training plans for team members.
Job Requirements
* Minimum 6 years in relevant leadership roles.
* Experience working in a global function and matrix environment.
* Expertise in transportation, warehouse, and order fulfillment processes.
* Capability in distribution/transportation capacity planning and management.
* Proven track record in managing 3PL providers.
* Experience in building high-performance teams with a strong mission focus.
* Strong collaboration and partnership skills, internally and externally.
* BA in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business required; advanced degrees like MA or MBA preferred.
* Spanish language skills required.
* Knowledge of WMS and TMS applications preferred.
* Travel approximately 20%.
