Currently, we are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Human Risk Assessment .
Your main responsibilities will include :
* You will be actively involved in both experimental and theoretical tasks within the group’s ongoing research projects.
* You will conduct field measurement campaigns in various scenarios (industrial, urban, or controlled environments) to assess the emission and release of materials, including emerging contaminants such as nanomaterials, PFAs, and others.
* You will estimate human exposure—particularly for workers and consumers—by applying exposure assessment models such as ART, Stoffenmanager, or ConsExpo.
* You will critically analyze and interpret experimental data, as well as data derived from models or databases.
* You will present your findings in a variety of settings, such as project meetings, scientific conferences, or technical workshops.
* You will contribute to the technical sections of research proposals and funding applications.
* You will collaborate in dissemination and outreach activities that help raise the visibility of the group’s work.
What do we expect from you?
PhD in Science : Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Nanotechnology, or a related field.
A Master's degree or courses in air monitoring, source apportionment, exposure assessment, and human and environmental risk assessment will be positively valued.
* Hands-on experience in air sampling and nanoparticle measurements in real-world or simulated environments.
* Experience applying risk assessment approaches to substances, contaminants, or nanomaterials.
* Familiarity with exposure assessment tools and models used in environmental health studies.
* Understanding of the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) framework, particularly as it relates to workplace and product safety.
* Experience coordinating experimental campaigns or contributing technically to collaborative projects.
* Ability to draft scientific reports and funding proposals in both English and Spanish.
* Previous involvement in data analysis, reporting, and technology transfer activities.
* Experience working in or collaborating with industrial stakeholders is a strong asset.
You will excel in this position if you bring :
* Motivation and commitment.
* Ability to communicate and present results in different forums (scientific, industrial, educational).
* Capacity to critically extract and analyze information from scientific literature.
* Ability to write technical-scientific reports in English.
* Basic user-level proficiency in tools such as Office and PowerPoint (essential).
* Experience with technical software (recommended).
Languages : Spanish and English. Catalan is a plus.
