We are currently looking for a Mould Design Engineer (CATIA) to join our Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and technical documentation of moulds, tooling, and related equipment used in the manufacture of composite parts. You will work closely with project, engineering, quality, and production teams to deliver robust, accurate, and manufacturable tooling solutions that meet aerospace standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Design lay-up and trimming moulds for composite parts.
· Design assembly moulds, jigs, templates, and other tooling according to product and manufacturing requirements.
· Design verification moulds, tools, and jigs to support inspection and validation activities.
· Ensure alignment systems and reference points are consistent across all tooling used during production.
· Perform validation calculations to confirm tooling suitability and compliance with requirements.
· Create digital mock-ups to verify assembly, functionality, and dimensional compatibility.
· Apply and review GD&T principles in tooling design and technical documentation.
· Prepare detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, bills of materials, and technical specifications.
· Prepare handling and maintenance documentation for moulds and tooling, taking into account HSE requirements.
· Coordinate with suppliers and support the selection of the most suitable tooling solution based on process, materials, and tolerances.
· Apply a clear and structured design methodology, including model organization, workflow discipline, and traceable technical information.
What We’re Looking For
· Degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
· At least 2 years of relevant experience in tooling or mould design, or proven experience in similar technical responsibilities.
· Strong proficiency in CATIA V5.
· Knowledge of composite materials, including thermoset and thermoplastic systems.
· Understanding of aerospace tooling requirements and manufacturing environments.
· Knowledge of Airbus methodology is highly valued.
· Familiarity with materials, surface treatments, and CAD/CAM processes.
· Professional level of English, both written and spoken.
· Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical information clearly.
