Unit / Team
The CTO function is part of Information Technology Services and provides infrastructure security technical services, service management and support services for the Atradius group and its customers.
Scheduling Team
Within the CTO the Scheduling Team is responsible for providing and maintaining the company Scheduling environments (BMC Control‑M and Visualcron), the job execution environment, the production output processing environments and for the technical management and maintenance of the supporting applications that underpin these batch and output environments and support this estate.
This role would suit a candidate proficient in the use of the Control‑M scheduling tool and used to working in a 24×7 operational environment.
Job description
Responsibilities
* Installation, configuration and upgrade of the Control‑M and Visual Cron software suites
* Monitoring and reviewing batch schedule performance; reporting with recommendations for improvement, poor‑performing schedule configuration, code and batch applications
* Applying required scheduling changes
* Installation, configuration and upgrade of the Microfocus Server Software suite
* Supporting the job output and report wrapper scripts
* Installation, configuration and upgrade of Thunderhead software environments
* Installation, configuration and upgrade of the Nuance Output Manager application
* Administration and support of Informatica products, including PowerCenter, IDQ and BDM
* Applying agreed application updates and software patches (release packages) to the pre‑Production environment; confirming the validity of the package and preparing the production implementation
* Ensuring the provision of suitable backup procedures
* Providing and reviewing appropriate standards, acceptance criteria and technical procedures
* Analyzing and resolving production problems and incidents
* Providing technical support for System Operators
* Providing technical expertise for BRR and DR
Key Skills
* Expertise in batch processing and job scheduling
* Good understanding of JCL
* Good understanding of shell scripting
* Knowledge of Linux and UNIX commands
* Basic knowledge of Oracle database structures
* Understanding of ITIL fundamentals
* Experience in root‑cause analysis and providing solutions to problems
* Methodical in testing and implementation planning
Key Job requirements
* Experience with a job scheduling tool, particularly Control‑M
* Preferably some experience with a Microfocus environment
* Experience working in a global commercial enterprise‑level organisation
* Experience working in a 24×7 operational environment
* Good spoken and written English
* Work confidently and efficiently with other technicians and teams
* Participation in an on‑call rota supporting the scheduled and batch operation
