The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Customs and Trade Compliance Lead (m / f) for Iberia, you will manage import and export operations on a daily basis and manage all Trade Compliance related activities for Spain and Portugal in coordination with the Regional and Central Trade compliance supporting teams, in respect with legal and customs regulations, as well as with trade compliance rules within 3M group. You will need to ensure deadlines to support logistics and business activities while keeping costs under control. You’ll report to the south Europe trade compliance lead.
Here, you will make an impact by :
* Leading customs clearance activities for import, export, and transits on air, sea, and road shipments.
* Development of lean processes to ensure the company adheres to import and export customs regulations.
* Manage documentation process related to sanitary certificates, origin certificates, and any other required documents by customs.
* Ensure good communication and professional relationships with local customs authorities.
* Monitor and anticipate regulatory changes and implement appropriate changes to policies and procedures.
* Implement company strategy related to trade compliance, and work on process improvements to secure Agreed Economic Operator status.
* Work (or act as) with the (regional) Export Control Coordinator to ensure compliance against export control regulations (screening including beneficial ownership; licensing requirements; anti-boycott; reporting; embargoes and sanctions).
* Act as an ambassador for Trade compliance across the Iberia region.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements :
* Bachelor’s degree related to international transport, commerce, logistics, or supply chain from an accredited institution.
* Relevant past working experience in customs clearing activities in Iberia.
* User Office, Excel, expertise on customs SAP GTS tool, TARIC, or any other customs tools.
* Growth mindset and collaborative attitude.
* Proficient in professional communication with various stakeholders.
* Capable of working independently and managing challenging circumstances and stressful situations.
Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include :
* Customs clearance accreditations, additional certifications on duty calculation, taxes.
* Portuguese and French knowledge.
* Self-motivated.
* Agile learner.
* Structured approach.
