ABOUT THIS ROLE:
As a Legal Counsel, in the Legal Department your role will be:
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide clear, strategic legal advice on regulatory and compliance matters across the organization.
* Proactively identify potential legal risks and offer practical solutions to mitigate them.
* Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts related to software, financial services, and other business needs.
* Support internal stakeholders with legal analysis on key issues including data protection, payment services, and anti-money laundering.
* Advise on a variety of European legal matters, such as employment, vendor agreements, and real estate leases.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Licensed to practice law in Spain and admission to the Spanish Bar.
* Juris Doctor or L.L.M. from a university located in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia or New Zealand (strongly preferred).
* Licensed to practice law in any commonwealth jurisdiction (desired).
* Fluent in spoken and written English (mandatory).
WORK EXPERIENCE:
* 5 or more years of legal experience
* Previous experience in financial services and/or payment processing industry (strongly preferred)
* Previous experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating international commercial contracts in English language (mandatory)
* Previous experience negotiating directly with sophisticated business customers
