Deutsche Bank's STEF department is a world class arranger of Structured Trade & Export Finance globally. DB has a strong presence in Italy and STEF's principal product in Italy is Export Credit Agency (ECA) supported finance including tied and untied financing to a variety of clients in Italy and abroad.
The candidate will be involved in all aspects of the STEF, playing an essential transaction origination and structuration role with taking direct responsibility for execution of mandates to arrange a variety of ECA financing deals in collaboration with cross border teams.
The Structurer works closely with Sales/Coverage, Origination and/or Distribution and helps deliver tailored structured products/solutions/platforms to the Bank/clients, in line with the specified needs and in alignment with the strategy of the Bank/Division.
The Structurer will develop solutions/platforms based on a good understanding of the Bank/client's needs and may participate in client meetings along with Sales/Coverage to advise on the key features of the structured product and help close the deal. He/she will also have responsibility for monitoring ongoing transactions and be involved in the review/drafting of credit memo, marketing, deal execution materials and internal desk reports.
Responsibilities
- Support to the STEF Italy team in the origination of new business opportunities which may involve the marketing, pricing, structuring and execution of new ECA/SACE export finance and untied facilities.
- Be involved in the identification of new business opportunities and the preparation of pitch documents, presentations to clients and calculating transaction KPIs and all other risk/rewards returns.
- Manage of financial and non financial risks in close-cooperation with control and 2nd functions. This includes preparation of applications and presentations of transactions to the relevant decision forums.
- Be responsible, once mandates are secured, for all aspects of transaction execution, including but not limited to negotiations with borrowers and suppliers, preparation of credit memo and managing the credit approval process, dealing with ECA/SACE and undertaking documentation and legal due diligence with external law firms and drafting the loan documentation and other due diligence requirement typical of structured finance transactions.
- Manage and monitor the transactions with any counterparties such as clients, banking partners and the supplier during the life of the loan.
- Close coordination with the global STEF networks and other DB Corporate Bank and Investment Bank business lines as well as relevant infrastructure functions during the origination and execution of new deals.
Skills
- Degree in Business, Finance or Law.
- Excellent communication skills in Italian and English. Speaking another language would be a plus.
- Minimum 3 years related experience in structured finance, project finance, export finance, credit department or similar team at leading commercial or Investment Bank.
- Analytical, financial modelling capabilities and credit analysis background would contribute to the profile.
- Knowledge of the Italian export finance and financial markets and the wider emerging market landscape would be a distinct advantage.
- Business driven approach – willingness and capability to grow into a client facing role.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
