Role Summary
Sotogrande International School is seeking a dynamic and passionate Lifeguard/Backup Monitor to assume this role for our Summer Camps in Sotogrande. The main responsibility of the Lifeguard/Backup Monitor is to ensure the safety, well-being, and enjoyment of all campers, both in and out of the pool. As a certified lifeguard, you will supervise campers during pool time (usually three or four times a week), ensuring a safe and fun experience at all times. The role also involves acting as a key member of the monitors team, assisting with a wide range of camp activities and supporting staff as needed. You will cover for other monitors when they are off, help with group activities, and provide general support to ensure smooth camp operations. You will live on-site and remain available to ensure campers’ safety and happiness during structured activities or free time. Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive contribution to the camper and staff experience are expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Report to Head of Juniors/Head of Masters and collaborate with senior leadership.
- Supervise campers during pool time.
- Be available to open and close the pool.
- Assist with camp activities.
- Step in to cover for monitors when off duty.
- Provide pastoral care for campers.
- Enforce camp procedures and guidelines.
- Participate in evening and late duties.
- Assist with daily camp operations.
- Emergency and incident response.
- First aid and health support.
- Be an active member of the camp team.
The Idóneo Candidate Will Have
- English level required: Advanced or Proficiency (C1-C2).
Requirements for Application
- Valid permission to work within the EU.
- Curriculum Vitae with photo attached in the upper right-hand corner.
- Supply two references.
Requirements to Work With Us
- Criminal record with less than 3 months of expiry.
- Scanned copies of degrees and certificates.
- Valid lifeguarding qualification.
- Valid First Aid certificate.
