IAM GOVERNANCE CONSULTANT (FREELANCE) - REMOTE MODE
At Hays, we are collaborating with an international business group and a global leader in claims & repair management The group stands out for its strong focus on automation, AI, computer vision, large language models, and highly digitalized processes. It is composed of three companies operating under a unified strategic vision, located across different European countries. They are executing a multi‐year strategic program to strengthen its capabilities across IT Governance, Information Risk Management, and Compliance.
We are currently looking for an IAM Governance Consultant to drive the implementation and maintenance of IAM frameworks, policies, and controls, ensuring regulatory alignment, unified risk visibility, and consistent execution of the IAM Target Operating Model across the organization.
What are the requirements?
* 8–12+ years of experience in security, IAM, governance, or risk management.
* Deep knowledge of IAM concepts such as JML, roles, SoD, access reviews, and privileged access (PAM).
* Experience with security standards and regulatory frameworks ( ISO 27001, NIS2, internal controls ).
* Proven ability to work in complex and distributed organizations, including audits and stakeholder management.
* Strong capability to translate technical risks into clear, business‐oriented language.
* Fluency in English.
What will your responsibilities be?
Governance & Policies
* Create and maintain IAM policies, standards, and procedures.
* Define the IAM Operating Model (processes, tools, roles).
* Establish RACI, responsibilities, and decision rules within the IAM program.
* Ensure alignment with ISO 27001, NIS2 and group‐level regulatory requirements.
Risk, Controls & Compliance
* Define required IAM controls (access reviews, SoD, privileged access).
* Monitor the effectiveness of IAM controls.
* Coordinate internal and external IAM audits.
* Manage the IAM risk register, exceptions, and program maturity.
* Define and track IAM KPIs and metrics.
Oversight & Team Support
* Guide the IAM operations team and the global platforms team.
* Approve exceptions to IAM standards.
* Advise application owners and group companies on IAM and access requirements.
* Report to senior leadership on IAM program status, risks, and progress.
