Quick Summary of the Role As a member of the Regional HSEC Assurance team, the HSEC Assurance Specialist supports the HSEC Regional team and the Custom Metallurgical Assets Group in governance and continuous improvement across our protocols and standards. This role is instrumental in enhancing HSEC performance across global assets by coaching and embedding robust processes, compliance, and performance expectations.
More specifically, you will be expected to:
Undertake assurance activities across the designated Region;
Gather, analyze, and evaluate data from global assets to facilitate ongoing enhancements throughout the Region;
Investigate trends in findings and provide asset support with effective corrective improvement plans;
Support the Regional HSEC Assurance Manager with the development of processes and procedures;
Train and coach asset teams on software applications and assurance methodologies;
Ensure alignment and efficiency of all HSEC Assurance schedules and plans;
Attend, plan, and coordinate assurance meetings for senior leaders.
Qualifications and Experience Undergraduate / postgraduate degree in Safety, Ergonomics, Health, Environment, Engineering, Bioscience, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Health & Safety.
Minimum of 5 years of experience collaborating across multiple teams and functions.
Experience working in a unionized, multicultural environment across several sites.
High proficiency in SharePoint, Microsoft Office, video production, and webinar management.
Robust coordination, communication, and stakeholder interaction capabilities.
Aptitude for catalyzing innovation and enhancing processes.
Professional designation is highly regarded.
Language and Travel Requirements You will be required to communicate fluently in the local language (Spanish) and in English (verbal and written). Knowledge of additional languages such as French and/or German is beneficial but not mandatory.
Travel to different assets is expected between 50-60% of the time, working with colleagues across various time zones.
