Job Description for Transportation Specialist
Overview
NOC (Network Operation Center) is the central command and control center for Transportation Execution across the Amazon Supply Chain network, supporting multiple geographies such as NA, India and EU. It ensures hassle‑free, timely pick‑up and delivery of freight from vendors to fulfillment centers (FC) and from FCs to carrier hubs. The NOC resolves exceptions, keeps stakeholders informed, analyzes network data, and proposes process improvements.
Responsibilities
* Facilitate flow of information between stakeholders (trans carriers, hubs, warehouses) and resolve issues impacting customer experience and business continuity.
* Support inbound operations: vendor/carrier/FC relationships and ensure pick‑up and delivery as scheduled.
* Support outbound operations: FC/carrier/carrier hub relationships and ensure timely truck departures and deliveries to customers.
* Use internal tools, pull data from databases (Excel, Access, SQL) and perform ad‑hoc reporting and analysis.
* Develop and monitor performance metrics to drive business results.
* Scope business and functional requirements for Amazon technology teams that build and enhance NOC software systems.
* Escalate problems or data variances to relevant owners and ensure timely resolution.
* Work within time constraints to meet critical business needs and measure activity performance.
* Provide real‑time customer experience in a 24/7 operating environment.
* Communicate findings in weekly narratives and review forums.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree.
* 10–24 months of relevant work experience.
* Fluency in Arabic and English (reading, writing, speaking);
at least 1 year of experience with both languages.
* Advanced Excel skills and data analysis (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
* Strong communication skills.
* Experience working in a dynamic team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
* Logistics background.
* Basic SQL knowledge.
* Excellent Excel and data analysis skills.
