Full Stack Java Developer – EY GDS Spain - Hybrid
The opportunity
Join our dynamic team to build innovative, end-to-end software solutions using modern Java and front-end technologies. As a member of our team in the EY GDS Spain office in Malaga, you’ll extend your knowledge and experience by working on interesting projects with the newest technologies and approaches. You’ll support clients in choosing the most suitable business solution and take part in digital transformation.
Responsibilities
* Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java applications using Spring and Spring Boot frameworks
* Build and maintain responsive front-end components using Angular and/or React.js
* Develop and consume RESTful APIs to support data-driven, service-oriented architectures
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, QA, UX/UI) to deliver high-quality software solutions
* Identify and resolve issues in SAP processes, ensuring data consistency and system integrity
* Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and design patterns
* Integrate and optimize applications with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
* Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure application reliability
* Contribute to the full software development lifecycle including planning, analysis, design, implementation, and support
* Continuously learn and apply emerging technologies to enhance application performance and maintainability
Skills and qualifications
* Proficiency in Java programming with a strong grasp of object-oriented design principles
* Practical experience with the Spring ecosystem, particularly Spring Boot for building RESTful services
* Solid front-end development skills using Angular and/or React.js frameworks
* Ability to design, implement, and consume REST APIs, ensuring clean, scalable integrations
* Hands-on experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
* Understanding and application of software design patterns and industry best practices
To qualify for the role, you must have
* A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
* Good organizational and analytical skills
* Experience in developing and integrating RESTful web services and working with relational databases like Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
* Fluent in English and Italian
Ideally, you’ll also have
* Fluent in Spanish is a plus
* Experience in international environments
