Perform all kind of field services activities related to the Monitoring and Diagnostics (M&D) Product Line of GE Vernova.
Roles and Responsibilities
* After comprehensive product training, serve as an M&D Lead Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and perform services on substation monitoring equipment.
* Work primarily outdoors in substations and power generation stations, including offshore wind platforms.
* Travel mostly Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend travel or stays as needed.
* Provide timely, accurate, and professional reports both externally and internally.
* Ensure on-site repair and modifications comply with GE Vernova standards.
* Act as a primary technical resource during on-site work, leading the resolution of engineering and product issues.
* Maintain high standards of installation and repair quality and efficiency.
* Work autonomously within a defined framework; resolve technical issues using judgment and consult senior team members for complex problems outside established procedures.
* Communicate effectively with the Services Leader, Product Management, Service Team, Customers, Channels, OEMs, and Sales Team to deliver superior customer support.
* Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and promote good safety practices.
* Provide technical guidance to skilled staff and channels to ensure work meets technical and quality standards.
* Coordinate schedule details, manpower, quality issues, and equipment needs effectively.
* Understand key business drivers and how team efforts contribute to broader organizational goals.
* This role requires frequent travel within the EU (at least 70%), primarily in Southern Europe, with potential travel across other European countries. When not traveling, work from home.
* Candidate must hold a valid EU work permit.
* Possess knowledge of industry best practices and market differentiation factors.
* Apply judgment and propose solutions for complex manufacturing and technical challenges, utilizing experience and analytical skills.
* Serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues and potentially lead small, low-risk projects, fostering team consensus and development.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering, Controls & Instrumentation.
* Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
* Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong influencing skills.
* Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
* Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Team-oriented mindset.
Desired Characteristics
* Experience working in a substation environment.
* Experience with Kelman DGA equipment, including installation, repair, and service within the M&D Kelman product line, is advantageous.
* Strong documentation, planning, and program execution skills.
* Offshore training or experience, with GWO certificates preferred.
* Experience with installation and maintenance of Power Transformer monitoring equipment.
* Fluency in at least one additional European language.
