AI Cybersecurity Data-Centric Security Engineer (RE2) – AI Factory Position at Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) – Closing date: 31 December 2025. The role is part of the BSC AI Factory project, funded by the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Facility and the European High‐Performance Computing Joint Undertaking.
Responsibilities Identify and build the processes that integrate digital models in cyber‐ranges, digital twins and digital shadows.
Design and develop cyber‐secure solutions for on‐premise infrastructures.
Co‐design and develop complex hybrid platforms that integrate external services, data and user privacy management, workflow managers, AI/ML processes, and production‐level services.
Deliver high‐quality, scalable and interoperable solutions that meet project requirements.
Collaborate to achieve project deliverables according to the established plan.
Contribute to meaningful and measurable results.
Qualifications Education Bachelor in Sciences (mathematics, telecommunications, physics, engineering or related).
Master's in AI/ML, big data, data analytics or computer science highly appreciated.
Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience Deep AI/ML expertise applied to cybersecurity: real‐time anomaly detection, threat classification and behavioral analysis on large‐scale datasets.
Proficiency in adversarial machine learning: model poisoning, evasion attacks, data inference and threat mapping with frameworks such as MITRE ATLAS.
Experience designing and implementing data‐centric security controls: encryption, secure pipelines, role‐based access, data governance and protection of training/inference data.
Hands‐on with big‐data processing frameworks (Spark, Kafka) and integrating ML models with security operations tools (SIEM, threat intelligence feeds).
Solid foundations in network security principles, intrusion detection, endpoint management, vulnerability assessment and SOC automation.
Additional Knowledge HPC applications and parallel programming models.
Agile methodologies.
Service‐oriented architectures.
Strong software design capacity.
Fluency in English; Spanish and other European languages advantageous.

Conditions Location: BSC within the CASE Department.
Full‐time contract (37.5h/week) with flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance and relocation support.
Duration: Open‐ended contract tied to project activity and budget.
Holidays: 22 days + 6 personal days + collective agreement days.
Salary: Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and local cost of living.
Starting date: ASAP.
