Purpose of the position
Organizing, managing, and optimizing transport and logistics activities across different PGS sites. The position ensures cost‑efficient, reliable, and sustainable logistics solutions by selecting and negotiating with transport providers, structuring contractual frameworks, and supporting business development with competitive transport conditions.
Responsibilities
1. Logistics management
o Coordinate and optimize logistics across multiple sites in Spain and France (e.g., Burriana, Bilbao, Salles).
o Manage transport of raw materials (wood) and distribution of finished products nationally and internationally (notably France).
o Develop and maintain supplier relationships: negotiate conditions, rates, and contracts.
o Actively prospect for new carriers to improve efficiency and strengthen the supplier base.
o Optimize transport routes, reduce empty runs, and enhance cost effectiveness.
o Guarantee compliance with delivery deadlines and monitor logistics KPIs.
o Manage and resolve customer complaints related to transport.
o Verify and validate transport invoices and perform related administrative tasks (e.g., creation of supplier files).
o Prepare regular follow‑up reports for Belgian management (results, incidents, prospects, improvement areas).
2. Supplier management & procurement
o Develop and maintain strong relationships with logistics providers.
o Negotiate rates, conditions, and contracts with transport partners.
o Actively prospect and qualify new carriers to improve efficiency and reduce dependency on single providers.
o Prepare requests for quotation, analyze offers, and support contract implementation.
3. Optimization & efficiency
o Optimize transport routes, reduce empty runs, and improve cost effectiveness.
o Review and structure collaborations with logistics service providers in clear contractual frameworks (volumes, KPIs, penalties, pricing conditions).
o Support sales teams with competitive offers by providing optimized transport tariffs.
Profile Qualification
* Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, or equivalent experience.
* Minimum 5 years in logistics procurement, transport management, or a similar role.
* Proven track record in supplier negotiation and logistics optimization.
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
* Analytical mindset with problem‑solving abilities.
* Excellent knowledge of logistics flows and cost optimization.
* Ability to work cross‑functionally with operations, procurement, sales, and production.
* Good organizational and reporting skills.
* Flexibility and willingness to travel between sites.
* Languages: Spanish, English, French. Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
* Ensuring compliance with the PGS Code of Conduct and relevant standards and legislation.
