Position Summary
The Department of Finance, Real Estate and Business Law offers three options within the Bachelor of Science in the Business Administration degree program: (1) Finance, (2) International Business, and (3) Real Estate and Urban Land Economics. The department seeks qualified candidate(s) to teach undergraduate courses such as BA 18 – Business and the Legal Environment, or other classes as needed. Faculty must hold or maintain qualifications consistent with AACSB accreditation categories: SA, PA, SP, or IP.
Instructor Responsibilities
Adhere to university and system-wide policies.
Prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, homework, quizzes, class projects, and exams.
Ensure all classes meet as scheduled throughout the semester in the assigned modality.
Conditional Appointment
Appointment contingent on budget and enrollment; subject to the collective bargaining agreement order of work. Faculty may need to demonstrate eligibility to work in the U.S. Appointment lasts two academic terms; candidates must be available on short notice.
Compensation
Commensurate with qualifications within salary range. Temporary Faculty with a Master’s: $5,507–$6,677 per month for full‑time (15 WTUs). Starting salaries near the minimum; adjusted based on WTUs assigned.
Anticipated Semester
Positions vary each semester. Current semesters: Fall 2026 (August 19 – December 22) and Spring 2027 (January 15 – May 26). The pool remains open for two terms; re‑application required beyond that.
Required Qualifications
Juris Doctor’s degree from an ABA‑accredited law school and/or licensed to practice law in good standing with a bar association of at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and at least 3 years of professional experience, or a doctorate within the previous 5 years, or recent scholarly activity (peer‑reviewed publications).
Preferred Qualifications
Commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level.
Successful undergraduate teaching experience.
Relevant industry experience.
