Mission
SEK international School El Castillo is looking for a temporary English Language and Literature Teacher for the MYP and DP programs.
Seeking to develop strong language skills and promote intercultural understanding, preparing students to excel in an interconnected and constantly evolving environment, while cultivating an international mindset.
Functions
Plan, prepare, develop, and deliver English A courses in accordance with school curriculum guidelines, school requirements, IB programs and LOMLOE requirements.
Develop and present lesson plans using a variety of models and teaching techniques in the subject areas.
Utilize relevant technology to support instruction.
Collaborate with other teachers to review, develop and write new vertical and horizontal curriculum documents, assessment and reporting.
Keep abreast of international developments in the field and in practice and methodology.
Observe, monitor and evaluate student learning and progress.
Prepare assessment tasks and tests, homework and other projects.
Model classroom inquiry practice and the IB learner profile.
Differentiate courses of study and lessons to meet the individual needs of diverse students based on their academic ability and prior achievement.
Maintain accurate and complete records of students' academic progress and achievement.
Communicate student progress and evaluations to tutors and/or families.
Maintain good student behavior in the classroom and on school premises by school disciplinary policies.
Prepare the classroom environment and maintain a safe, secure, and stimulating learning environment.
Participate in meetings, professional development opportunities, and other school and institutional events.
Be willing to participate in, cooperate with, and possibly lead other initiatives in the school related to the development of school culture, leadership among students, and the promotion of school values, such as projects, field trips, events, and pastoral care of students, as a way to effectively meet the personal, social (welfare), and academic needs of students and staff.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in English Philology, Interpretation and Translation, or similar.
Accepted teacher certification (Secundary/Bach Master's degree)
Experience as an English Language and literatura teacher.
English Proficiency C2, or equivalent
