Night Shift Engineering Operations Technician, Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO)

As part of the Data Center Engineering Operations team, you will support critical infrastructure systems to ensure they are prepared for any situation. AWS operates some of the most sophisticated, safe, and secure data centers globally, and our Engineering Operations Technicians help maintain this standard by testing and implementing new technologies and practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform daily rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
* Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
* Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
* Perform rack installs and decommissions within SLAs.
* Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repairs of electrical and mechanical equipment.
* Create technical documentation to support change management.
* Manage work requests from initiation to resolution and execute projects from start to finish.
* Support on-site contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with procedures and regulations.
* Work schedule may vary, with shifts up to 12 hours, including rotations and on-call duties.
Physical Requirements
* Ability to lift/move up to 39 pounds regularly and participate in group lifts for heavier objects.
* Work in environments requiring ladder use, balance, and physical exertion.
* Perform tasks involving climbing, bending, reaching, and working above shoulders.
* Use ear protection when necessary.
Daily Responsibilities
Perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical equipment, including generators, switchgear, UPS, HVAC units, pumps, and related systems. Support fire/life safety systems, building automation, and general facilities equipment, reporting to the Data Center Facility Manager.

Qualifications
* Technical training or 2+ years of electrical/mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience in mission-critical infrastructure or equivalent.
* 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office tools.
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* 4+ years of Data Center Engineering experience preferred.
* Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
