We are seeking a highly experienced Fractional Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to provide strategic technology leadership for our AI-driven medical device initiatives. This contract-based role is ideal for a senior technologist who thrives in early-stage or growth-focused medtech environments, offering technical guidance, oversight, and strategic direction on a part-time or project-driven basis.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and refine the company’s technology strategy, ensuring alignment with clinical, regulatory, and commercial goals.
Advise on architecture and design decisions for AI models, device software, and data systems to meet medical-grade standards.
Oversee technical compliance with MHRA, FDA, ISO 13485, GDPR, and other relevant frameworks.
Support fundraising activities by providing credible technical insights and contributing to investor presentations.
Establish scalable processes for R&D, product development, and data governance.
Mentor internal engineering and data science teams;
recruit or coordinate external technical resources as needed.
Guide technology risk assessments and help prioritize projects that accelerate regulatory approval and market launch.
Provide periodic executive updates and recommendations to the CEO and leadership team.
Qualifications and Experience
Extensive experience in leading technical development for AI and medical device companies (fractional or permanent).
Strong record of designing AI/ML systems for regulated environments.
Familiarity with hardware/software integration and interoperability in healthcare systems.
Solid understanding of medical device lifecycle—from concept through clinical validation and commercialization.
Expertise in managing distributed technical teams and outsourced development partners.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
Engagement Structure
Consultancy contract (fractional): typically 1–2 days per week or project-based milestones.
