About the role
ThePricing Analyst (fixed term, 12 months) will drive development of strategic pricing capability across the portfolio of one of Elsevier’s Solutions business units (Corporate or Academic & Government). In this role, you will optimize price points and maximize sustainable, long-term revenue in your solution portfolio. We seek a multifaceted professional with a cross-functional background, who can interact confidently with senior internal customers. The successful candidate will be grounded in innovative pricing approaches and act as a knowledge center to commercial leaders. A solid grasp of quantitative methods, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to make grounded recommendations, will be essential.
Responsibilities
* Developing pricing strategies to meet customers' needs while providing a profit for the organization;
* Designing, implementing, and maintaining pricing infrastructure;
* Evaluating effectiveness of pricing strategies and modifying pricing structures as needed;
* Providing reports and documentation of pricing structures;
* Serving as the point-of-contact for pricing inquiries from internal Sales departments, but not customers.
Requirements
* Bachelor\'s degree in a quantitative, scientific, or business-related field;
* Solid experience in pricing, strategy, strategy consulting, finance, or similar quantitative discipline;
* Advanced technical ability in Excel;
* Good problem-solving mindset and demonstrated ability;
* Fluent in English;
* Great interpersonal skills with the ability to interpret the results of your analysis and make recommendations;
* Knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others;
* Possess in-depth knowledge, experience, and conceptual and practical expertise in own area.
