From Hays we are partnering with a global leader in industrial materials to support the expansion of their finance operations in Bilbao. As part of this growth, we are recruiting an Account Payable Accountant to join their international accounting team, focusing on French legal entities.

The Role
As an Account Payable Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of invoice processing and payment activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Verifying and coding invoices, including VAT
* Ensuring timely entry and processing of invoices in SAP
* Monitoring accounts payable aging and coordinating payments
* Liaising with internal departments and suppliers to resolve issues
* Supporting audits and preparing journal entries
* Reporting on invoice status and contributing to process improvements
What We’re Looking For
* Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or audit, with a focus on accounts payable
* Solid understanding of IFRS and ideally French GAAP
* Experience in international or manufacturing environments
* Proficiency in SAP, Excel, and purchase-to-pay tools (OCR, e-invoicing)
* Fluent in French and English (Spanish is a plus)
* Detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative mindset
